Philippines Defeats Iraq to Remain Competitive in Fiba Asia U-18

Batang Gilas got back on the winning track after losing to Chinese Taipei in their opening game, by defeating Iraq last Saturday, 96-79, in Fiba Asia U-18 Championship in Tehran, Iran.

PH Olympians Receive Briefing on Zika

On July 18, Dr. Ferdinand Brawner of the PH Olympic delegation gave counter-measures on health to the athletes, coaches and officials. “In Brazil right now, a lot of what is being talked about is preventive medicine. The primary concern is the Zika virus that is transmitted by mosquitoes. The symptoms between dengue and Zika are the same except that the intensity is greater for dengue.”
