De Ocampo and Castro Retire from Gilas

After the Olympic Qualifying Tournament run for the 2016 Rio Olympics, which ended abruptly last Wednesday for Gilas Pilipinas after losing to New Zealand, star point guard Jayson Castro and forward Ranidel de Ocampo both announced their formal retirement from international play wearing their Gilas jerseys. Bayron Gets Lead Halfway through ICTSI Bacolod Golf Challenge

Inquirer reports on Saturday: “Jay Bayron gunned down seven birdies on the way to a four-under-par 66 yesterday to wrest a one-stroke lead over Micah Shin of the United States and Dutchman Guido Van Der Valk halfway through the ICTSI Bacolod Golf Challenge in Murcia town in Binitin.”

Filipino Boxer Arienza Faces Indonesia’s Reyk at MOA Music Hall

According to Rappler.com, “Surigao-based southpaw Jeffrey Arienza will face Indonesia’s Wellem Reyk for the WBC Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) junior welterweight belt in the 12-round main event of “Night of Champions III,” which will be promoted by Elorde International Productions Wednesday, July 13 at Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.”
