Huelgas Bags the Second Gold for Team Philippines

Another triathlete Nikko Huelgas finishes first in men’s triathlon to notch the second gold for the country in the 28th Southeast Asian Games, clocking in at 2:04:32, more than a minute ahead of Malaysian silver medalist Rikigoro Shinozuka.

SEAG Host Singapore Hoping to Inspire a Sporting Revolution

With the passing of Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew last March, Minister for Culture Community and Youth Lawrence Wong emphasizes that the SEA Games should help paint a positive image of sport in a country where parents rank academic success far higher than athletic prowess, saying: “Economic impact is not a major consideration for staging the Games, rather, we want it to further catalyse our sporting culture.”
